The IOHAN-AMOS COMENIVS MORAUVS wine owes his prestigious name to one of the most famous pedagogicals of all times, well-known as Comenius, who owned a wine estate in Moravia during the XVII century, which was extremely dear to him. From those vines come today the red and white IOHAN-AMOS COMENIVS MORAUVS.

The project of Arcimboldo Global Communications s.r.o. intends to promote the proliferation of the antique wine-making tradition of Moravia, associating it to the always current thought of Comenius, a personage defined by UNESCO as the “Apostle of world understanding”. In fact, the pedagogical commitment of the Moravian thinker was always based on the concept of “offering knowledge and education to every human being in order to contribute to peace among all people”. In this sense, the diffusion of the IOHAN-AMOS COMENIVS MORAUVS wine , Comenii Vinum , becomes a symbolic message for harmonious living between all nations.

The project of Arcimboldo Global Communications is developed through scheduled events:

In the opening event of the Monte Carlo Wine Festival 2008, a transplant of a Comenius grapevine stump from Moravia will be realized. This event wishes to represent the symbolic diffusion of the Thinker's moral values.

Following this event, the first Comenius Vine will be implanted, with original stumps directly from Moravia, in a splendid area of beyond 3,000 square meters facing the sea of the French Riviera. The vineyard, realized in the whereabouts of Les Granges de St. Paul , over the French small town of Menton, will concretely testify the connection between Mitteleuropean culture and the Mediterranean one in the name of Comenius.

The realization of this first vineyard will be followed by the international diffusion of the Comenius Vines. Every new accommodating land will give unique characteristics to the Comenii Vinum IOHAN-AMOS COMENIVS MORAUVS, and to promote in a more incisive way the principles of the great Moravian Thinker, oenology, wine & gastronomy and Tourism and Hotel Management training courses will be created.
